Valley Ridge Walks
A
trek in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh undertaken in either
spring or autumn. We have a couple of stages where we walk on sparsely
used tracks and the rest of the stages are on seldom used trails
high up on ridges and passing through thick forests of Oak, Rhododendron,
Blue Pine, Fir and Cedar. The Uhi river and its tributaries hold
a good population of Brown and Rainbow Trout, introduced by the
English earlier this century. Very extensive views of the Pir Panjal
and Dhauladhar ranges of the western Himalayas. A day spent at the
sacred Parasher Lake with its exquisite temple dedicated to the
local Goddess and another day spent on Phulandhar ridge from where
one can see the snow clad mountains of Chamba, Dharamsala, Palampur,
Bara Banghal, Chotta Banghal and Kullu. It is of special interest
