DAY 1. ARRIVAL MUMBAI ( BOMBAY) : Assistance and transfer
to the hotel.
2. MUMBAI Discover this rapidly growing entrepreneurial
and commercial centre, home of India's stock exchange and
headquarters for many national and international companies.
Morning sightseeing to commence with Gateway of India. A
boat excursion to the Elephanta island, about a kilometer
across the sea is arranged for the group. The Elephanta
island has a complex
of temples with chambers cut out of solid rock. There are
a number of large relics carved out of the rock surface
inside the chambers,the most well known being the Trimurti,
a three headed bust of Lord Shiva. Almost next to the Gateway
of India is the over 100 year old Taj Mahal Hotel which
is a popular landmark. The Prince of Wales Museum next door,
built in 1911, is one of the biggest museums in the country.
Its three main sections are on Art, Archaeology and Natural
History. Next follows a drive along the Marine Drive a popular

promenade
stretching all the way to Chowpatti which is a beach on
the way to Malabar Hill. On the beach discover a mini India.
Malishwalas or masseurs who have the sandy floor as their
parlour, and the peddlars, magicians, acrobats, balloonwalas,
palmists, astrologers and little kiosks selling Bhelpuri
(spicy savories) and Kulfis (typical Indian ice-cream) Drive
back to the hotel for a small rest and continental buffet
lunch.Post lunch tour of the Hanging Gardens laid out in
1881. |
The
Kamla Nehru Park atop the Malabar Hill provides a fine view
of the Chowpatti and Marine Drive up to Nariman Point. Proceeding
downward from Malabar Hill, one comes to the Mahalakshmi
temple, the city's most ancient temple overlooking the sea.
Later drive back to the hotel for a spectacular evening
of a typical Bollywood night specially created for you at
the lawns of the hotel. Recreating the kitsch glamour of
the famed Mumbai film industry a typical Hindi film set
complete with the actors, actresses, villains, comedians,
spot boys, cameramen etc. enact the song and dance sequences
complete with elaborate costumes, Hindi film music and the

3. MUMBAI I GOA Transfer to airport to board morning
flight to Goa. Check into your beach resort. Join a traditional
carnival (in February only), a part of Goa's rich Portuguese
heritage, where revelry, song and dance, great food and
good wine come beautifully together. Discover the joys of
Goan cuisine at a delightful buffet Iunch.The choice of
seafood, often cooked in fragrant masalas is excellent-prawns,clams,lobsters,crabs,mussels
and of course fish,is either cooked in wet curries, grilled,
or baked in "tandoor" clay ovens.Evening Santa Monica boat
cruise with band and singers in attendance on the board.

GOA : A sun- dappled, scenic trip to Lila de
Grande, a secluded, un-inhabited Goan island, where you
can snorkel, fish and enjoy a picnic. The cruise starts
at 9 a.m and returns at 5 p.m. Enjoy a seafood bar-be-que
on the beach with the backdrop of the sounds of guitar and
Goan folklore. Overnight Goa.
5 . GOA : Day at leisure on the beach.Afternoon relish
the delicacies of the "Street food of Mumbai", brought about
in a theme buffet lunch in the sprawling lawns of the hotel.
Enjoy "bhel puri", an interesting masala mixture of puffed
rice, deep fried vermicelli,potatoes,chilli paste, tamarind
water,chopped onions and coriander. "Pao bhaji", a round
slab
of flat bread stuffed with meat or vegetables and simmered
in hot oil and"kanji vada",
savoury doughnuts soaked in fermented mustard and
chilli sauce, to name a few. Fishing villages are part of
Goa's rich cultural heritage. A local Goan fishing village
is created on the grounds of the hotel in the evening which
forms a perfect backdrop for a charming evening in a very
rustic atmosphere. Artisans display their skills whilst
the village dancers whirl to the music of a local band.

6. GOA /MUMBAI I DELHI : Transfer to
airport to connect flight to your international destination.
