MONKS AND MONASTERIESI
Four mountain ranges of the Himalayas cross Ladakh, the Greater

Day 1. DELHI / LEH :
Morning flight to Leh. Transfer to class A hotel.Day at leisure
to acclimatize to The high altitude. Overnight Leh.
2. LEH: Full day sightseeing tour of the monasteries
- Hemis, Shey and Thikse. The Hems gompa is the highest monastery
in Ladakh and contains gold statues, Stupas decorated with
precious stones and many priceless old Thankas. Shey gompa
is situated in the ruins of The old palace of The kings of
Ladakh. Thikse gompa is built on the model of the Potala palace
in Lhasa in several levels of construction. It contains The
Three storeyed statue of The Maithriya Buddha,The future Buddha.
Overnight Leh.

3.
LEH Morning sightseeing of Leh palace,Shanilstupa and
Shankar gompa. Afternoon drive to Stok across the river Indus
to see the Stok palace. Evening free to explore The bazaar.
Overnight Leh.
4. LEH / ULEYTOKPO: Drive to Uleytokpo (2 hrs), enroute
visit Likir and Phyang monasteries. Uleytkpo is famous for
its apricot orchards. Camp/hotel is set on the banks of the
river Indus in The apricot orchards.
5.
ULEYTOKPO : Day return excursion
via local villages to Aichi monastery- one of The oldest.
Overnight hotel.

ULEYTOKPO / LEH : Drive to Leh. Day free for exploring
the town and The bazaar Overnight Leh.
7. LEH / DELHI: Transfer to airport to board morning
flight to Delhi.

3. PANGONG TSO LAKE (POSSIBLE INTERESTING VARIATION) Pangang
Tso Lake is the highest in the region and is famous for colourful
stones, fossils and wildflowers. 3/4th of this lake is in
China and 1/4 Thin India. You will experience The ever changing
moods of the lake from glorious dawn to spectacular sunset.
Leh I Thak Thak - Lukung - Pangong Tso - Leh (3 days).
4. TSO MORIRI LAKE (POSSIBLE INTERESTING VARIATION)
Located at 14000 ft this beautiful lake is full of migratory
birds, yaks, wild horse and nomads (3 days).
5. KHARDUNGLA PASS ( Day return excursion).Highest pass in
the world (18360 ft). This road carries on to the famous Slachen
glacier.
