Soaking in the warmth of Panaramic hotsprings in the Nubra
Valley, crossing over Khardungla (18,350 feet) the highest
motorable pass in the world, along the legendary silk route,
on the way to Siachen, the longest glacier outside the polar
regions.
Driving up to the Pangong Tso, a 150 km long lake at 14,000
feet, observing rare wildlife and intriguing rock carvings
en-route; experiencing the ever changing moods of the lake
from glorious down to spectacular sunsets. Observing the
lifestyle of the remote village of Karzok and the nomadic
Changa shepherds on the banks of the crystal clear, pearl
shaped Tso Moriri lake, where the Barheaded geese and the
Great Crested grebes breed; en-route staying at Chumathang
and bathing in the medicated waters of its hotsprings. |
Visiting ancient tribal villages in the Indus valley, downstream
from Khalsi, here the colourful Drokpas live, whose ethnic
origin is variously attributed to Aryan, Greek and Jew ancestors.
These tours of course include the ever popular locations
like, Leh, Stok, Thikse, Hemis, Chemrey, Thak, Stakna, Spituk,
Phayang, Bazgo, Likir, Alchi, Timisgam and Lamayuru.
Conducting the tours will be experienced group leaders who
have travelled in this remote region extensively and have
good knowledge and understanding of this unique destination.
We can also arrange for safaris on ponies, yaks, twin humped
Bactrian camels, white water rafting, trekking and tours
to the isolated unspoiled Zanskar valley, as add ons.

traditional aspects of this Tibetan cold desert with spectacular
views. Four mountain ranges of the Himalayas cross Ladakh,
the Greater Himalayas, Zanskar, Ladakh and the Karakoram
& so does the mighty Indus river. It is magical and
remote moonscape and its mountains spectacular, the people
delightful, gentle and ungrasping, it's religion ancient
and its monasteries unaltered over the period of time. This
land of wilderness & overwhelming natural beauty beckons

DELHI/ LEH / STOK / ULEYTOKPO/ LEH / DELHI
» Day 01: ARRIVE DELHI :
Transfer to hotel. Full day sightseeing tour of New
Delhi & Old Delhi to include the Mughal gardens, India
Gate, Parliament House, Bahai Temple & the Qutab Minar.
Lunch will be at the Mehrauli village complex. After lunch
proceed to the historic Old city, visit Rajghat - Memorial
to Mahatma Gandhi, India's largest Mosque the Jama Masjid,
visit to the famous silver street "Chandini Chowk" &
the magnificent Red Fort, where you shall also witness a
son-et-lumiere. Dinner at a restaurant called Chor Bazaar,
where the buffet is spread on a vintage car. Overnight Delhi.
» Day 02 : DELHI/LEH :
Morning flight to Leh. Transfer to class A hotel. Day at
leisure to acclimatize to The high altitude. Overnight Leh.
» Day 03 : LEH:
Full day sightseeing tour of the monasteries - Hemis, Shey
& Thikse. The Hems gompa is the highest monastery in
Ladakh & contains gold statues, Stupas decorated with
precious stones and many priceless old Thankas. Shey gompa
is situated in the ruins of The old palace of The kings
of Ladakh. Thikse gompa is built on the model of the Potala
palace in Lhasa in several levels of construction. It contains
The Three storeyed statue of The Maithriya Buddha, The future
Buddha. Overnight Leh.
» Day 04 : LEH :
Morning sightseeing of Leh palace,Shanilstupa and Shankar
gompa. Afternoon drive to Stok across the river Indus to
see the Stok palace. Evening free to explore The bazaar.
Overnight Leh.

» Day 05 : LEH/ULEYTOKPO:
Drive to Uleytokpo (2 hrs), enroute visit Likir & Phyang
monasteries. Uleytkpo is famous for its apricot orchards.
Camp/hotel is set on the banks of the river Indus in The
apricot orchards.
» Day 06 : ULEYTOKPO :
Day return excursion via local villages to Aichi monastery-
one of The
oldest. Overnight hotel.
» Day 07 : ULEYTOKPO / LEH
:
Drive to Leh. Day free for exploring the town and The bazaar
